Is the next Washington Wizards draft pick a member of the undefeated Gonzaga Bulldogs?

Like it or not, the Washington Wizards have a better chance of being in the draft lottery than they do of making the playoffs. If the lottery were tomorrow, the Wizards would enter with the sixth-best odds. For better or for worse, the lottery isn’t for a few months. The Wizards still have 24 games to go. Bradley Beal is banged up. Rui Hachimura, too. It doesn’t look good.

Despite sitting in the standing among teams in the thick of a rebuild or mid-tank, the Wizards’ haven’t publicly given up on the playoffs. But let’s face it. The Wizards should be more worried about prospects than the postseason at this point. Tonight, they’ll get a good look at a number of NBA hopefuls on college basketball’s biggest stages: The NCAA National Championship Game.

It’s all come down to this. There were once 68 teams. Now there are two. A month of madness has led us to one epic showdown. The undefeated Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. the Baylor Bears.

Gonzaga is the first team since 2015 to make it this far during an undefeated regular season. That year, the Kentucky Wildcats made it to the Final Four before they lost to the Wisconsin Badgers. The last team to go undefeated all the way through the tournament: The 1976 Indiana Hoosiers.

Can the Gonzaga Bulldogs be the first team in over 40 years to pull off a perfect season? We’ll see. If so, they’ll need big games from some of their studs (of which they have many). And some (if not all) of those studs should be on the Wizards’ radar.

Here are three Gonzaga players that the Washington Wizards should consider drafting.
