The 2021 NBA Finals are officially underway, which means we’ll be headed for the offseason in no time. Like every other franchise, the Washington Wizards will have some important decisions to make in order to improve on this past season. After starting 19-33, Washington ended the season 16-6 to finish with a 35-39 record.

The Wizards barely snuck into the playoffs as an eighth seed by defeating the Indiana Pacers in the play-in game, 142-115. And even though it was a great moment finally breaking their playoff skid, the jubilation was short-lived. The Philadelphia 76ers sent the Wizards packing in a mere five games. The early exit is further proof that the front office will have their work cut out for them this summer.

The first order of business, though, will be hiring a new head coach. On June 16, the Washington Wizards parted ways with Scott Brooks, which ended his five-year tenure with the franchise. This decision was widely accepted by fans who are hoping a new coach can come in and immediately change the culture in D.C. With the right leadership and a new offensive and defensive system implemented, I don’t see why that’s not possible!

The chemistry between the two stars, Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook, will only get better in year two. They just need the right supporting cast to help elevate them to the next level. Then, the Wizards can potentially make noise in the Eastern Conference.

There will be a ton of additions and subtractions this offseason, but here are three players the Washington Wizards should consider re-signing if the price tag makes sense.
