Today is the day! We’re officially less than 12 hours away from the 2021 NBA Draft and the Washington Wizards will soon be on the clock with the 15th overall pick. Who will they choose? Does the front office already have someone in mind? Or are they waiting to see how the board plays out? Only Lord knows but it’s always fun to speculate. The Wizards have a lot of holes to fill but they’re lacking in one area, in particular.

The Washington Wizards need more depth at the center spot and the 2021 NBA Draft may be the perfect time to add some if the right player falls to pick #15.

Alex Len and Robin Lopez are both unrestricted free agents this offseason and it’s no guarantee they both return. If they both end up leaving, then the only two centers remaining on the Wizards roster will be Thomas Bryant and Daniel Gafford. Bryant is only 7 months removed from an ACL injury he sustained in early January so there’s no telling if he’ll be ready by the start of next season. Gafford, on the other hand, has only started 18 games in his short career so it’s still unclear whether or not he’s ready to be a full-time starter.

The Wizards will have to evaluate all of these things before they make their pick tonight. Even though they do need help in a bunch of other areas as well, bringing in another center should be one of their top priorities. Washington, of course, could wait until Free Agency to address this issue but the 2021 NBA Draft seems like the better option to sure up this spot.

So here are three bigs that the Washington Wizards should strongly consider selecting with the 15th overall pick!
