Wizards Likeliest Traded by the NBA Trade Deadline: No. 3 – Spencer Dinwiddie

Number three is a bit complicated but deserves the third spot on this list. When the Wizards acquired guard Spencer Dinwiddie they anticipated different results than they have gotten on the court.

They also could not have expected the behind-the-scenes issues that have reportedly followed Dinwiddie to the Wizards. Unfortunately for the Wizards, if those reports are true, Dinwiddie has not helped his trade value in any way so far this season.

He’s still getting back into it following a serious injury, but rival teams aren’t going to pass up the opportunity to buy low on him if they have any interest in him. His on-court production will cause teams to lowball the Wizards, which might be acceptable for the Wizards if he and Beal are not on the same page.

If that is the case with Dinwiddie and Beal, and the team wants to pursue moves that build towards a future with Beal, it’s pretty easy to see why the Wizards would do what they can to move on from the guard. They need to get what they can, but depending on the situation behind the scenes, the team could very well move on from him for a very low price.

That means other teams have a chance to buy low and hit big as the guard continues to work himself back to where he was pre-injury. There are a number of teams that make sense as landing spots for Dinwiddie.

Regardless of his value around the league, the Wizards could move him. It won’t be easy to get better by doing so necessarily but could be the best option for the bigger picture plans.
