Unlikely All-Star Additions

Kyrie Irving
James Harden

Both Irving and Harden have player options awaiting them and by all accounts are likely to take the money to stay with their respective teams. Neither one has proven to be worth the headache lately, either.

However, if they decide to explore their options, the Wizards should ask for a meeting. You never know who’s willing to play with whom.

That being said, let’s not waste our time here.

May be Available for a Price We Can’t Afford

Dejounte Murray
Malcolm Brogdon

Dejounte Murray becomes an interesting conversation, especially if the Spurs like what they see in Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija, or even Corey Kispert. San Antonio has given no indication that they are looking to trade Murray, but if the Wizards offer Avdija, Hachimura, a first-round pick and filler, do the Spurs say no?

Probably, but Tommy should pick up the phone and try.

What if we centered the trade around Kyle Kuzma? Would either side engage with that?

Malcolm Brogdon will likely be available this summer, especially after the Pacers traded for Tyrese Haliburton, but what’s going to be the cost to get him? Like the offer for Murray, do the Wizards have enough to pluck Brogdon away, let alone outbid other interested teams?

This is without even factoring in Brogdon’s $22.6 million cap hit. Washington would need someone to not only take Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and his remaining contract but also be satisfied with the prospects we send.
