Wizards 2022 Free Agents: Raul Neto and Cassius Winston

  • Former Wizards Point Guards both wind up in Philadelphia

Two very different additions at the point guard spot between Neto and Winston. Neto is a proven solid depth option in the NBA while Winston is still working to prove himself capable of filling a similar role for an NBA team.

After some time with the Capital City Go-Go last season, Winston has already connected with the 76ers organization in a small way. Winston will be playing for them in the NBA Summer League, according to reports.

This relationship won’t lead to a guaranteed NBA contract by any means, but it could absolutely lead to Winston playing the upcoming season with the 6ers G-League affiliate.

For the 76ersto actually give a contract and roster spot, there can’t be so many unknowns regarding the player. That’s where they turn around and pursue Neto to fill out the end of their bench.

While the veteran point guard would not crack the 76ers rotation when healthy, he’d be a solid and cheap option to give them depth when it’s needed most.

Neto is a capable player on both ends and will do his part to keep things moving along. On a good NBA team, there is value in having him towards the end of the bench. He can also play a veteran role in the locker room for some of the younger guards on the 76ers roster.

With money being tight in Philadelphia, Neto might be a value signing for the 76ers. He won’t cost much and doesn’t need any sort of role commitments.

Other Possibilities: Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, Charlotte Hornets
