Free Agent Guard that would bring value to the Washington Wizards: Avery Bradley

Avery Bradley has earned two All-Defensive Team honors over the course of his 12 year NBA career. Once being named to the second team, once to the first team.

Bradley is a weapon on the defensive side of the floor and has been for many years. While his offensive game is streaky at the best of times, what he offers on the defensive side of the floor is valuable to any team looking for help defending the perimeter.

The Wizards have some weaknesses that remain on their roster. Those include perimeter defense and point of attack defenders. By bringing in Bradley, the Wizards would be adding a tool they currently do not have at their disposal.

A guard that can defend bigger players in addition to those at his position, is capable of harassing opposing point guards for 94 feet and is fully invested in his role as a defensive specialist.

Bradley is listed at 6’3”, but that doesn’t do justice to what he does on the defensive end. He has no problem giving bigger offensive players fits in any area of the court. The Wizards need plus defenders, not to mention anyone possible that brings a proactive approach to that end of the floor.

Bradley could play in lineups alongside any of Bradley Beal, Delon Wright, Monte Morris and/or rookie guard Johnny Flynn. The playmaking the Wizards have in guys like Kyle Kuzma and hopefully Deni Avdija this year would allow Bradley to get minutes when needed without having to do things like play make or create.
