On Wednesday, the NBA released the official schedule for the 2022-23 season. There has been a lot to soak in, but we’ve done just that with the Washington Wizards schedule and now can provide you with the games and dates that must be circled.

These all apply to the fan base, and most apply to the team or certain players at the very least. Games that already have the storyline built in and growing despite months of time between now and when they will take place.

The excitement should be there. Circling the dates now will help everyone be ready when that time rolls around.

Date the Wizards should circle on the schedule: Wednesday, October 19th, 2022

  • Season Opener
  • At Indiana Pacers

The first date anyone needs to mark is simple, the season opener. That would be the case regardless of the opponent, which is supported by the fact this game makes the list despite being against the Indiana Pacers.

It’s vital to start hot and the best way to do that is to take care of business in the first game of the season. If anything, the lowly opponent makes it that much more important for the Wizards because they need to be able to take care of teams like the Pacers.

That performance guarantees nothing, though, proven by last year’s 98-83 victory over the Toronto Raptors in the season opener. Things fell apart sooner than later and that can always happen, but starting off on the right foot is obviously ideal.

Date the Wizards should circle on the schedule: Monday, January 16th, 2023

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • Host the Golden State Warriors

The game that fell on MLK Jr. Day would be of interest by default, it just so happens the Wizards also get to host the Golden State Warriors on the day. It will be a day game in which many fans will be tuned in, and the Wizards will have their hands full  with the reigning NBA champions.

Fans in the D.C. area get the chance to check out an all time squad live and many will do exactly that. The hope is the energy will be rocking on the 16th and the Wizards can use that to create a competitive game of basketball.

Either way, it’s hard to not mark the calendar when these Warriors make their trip. It also comes on a very impactful and significant day, so this one easily makes the cut.
