Date the Wizards should circle on the schedule: October 30th, 2022

  • At Boston Celtics

In their sixth game of the season, the Washington Wizards will get their first chance at going head to head with last year’s Eastern Conference champions. They’ll hit the road to take on Jayson Tatum and company in a game that would be huge for their early season confidence if they were to win.

Surprisingly, the Wizards split the season series last year against the Celtics, with each team winning at home once and on the road once. The Celtics are going to be among the best in the east once again this year, so this game could serve as a measuring stick in some ways.

Obviously Washington isn’t as good and won’t be anytime this season, but it’ll be interesting to see how they play against a true contender.

Date the Wizards should circle on the schedule: December 14th, 2022

  • At Denver Nuggets
  • Familiar faces as they go against former Wizards Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith
  • New Wizards Will Barton and Monte Morris make their return in front of the Denver fans

While it will be nice to see former Wizards in KCP and Ish Smith, this one is all about the new guys in Washington making their first appearance in front of Nuggets fans since the offseason trade. They’ll receive a well deserved warm welcome from the fans.

Morris had spent all of his time in the NBA as a member of the Nuggets before being traded to Washington. He played in 280 regular season games and 48 playoff games during his time with Denver.

Barton was with the Nuggets for eight seasons, appearing in 479 regular season games and 22 playoff games. He is currently the Nuggets all-time leader in 3-point field goals made, though that standing will soon change due to Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic.
