The Washington Wizards just finished a home and home set against the Philadelphia 76ers. Luckily, the Wizards were able to rebound with a win on the road, after suffering a defeat at home.

The Wizards are now 4-4 on the season.

The Wizards can be very inconsistent, especially with the loss of Delon Wright on the defensive end. In the first game, the Sixers shot an astounding 55% from the field. P.J. Tucker and Georges Niang couldn’t miss, while James Harden and Tyrese Maxey led the way. Joel Embiid was out with an illness.

Bradley Beal struggled with easy looks at the rim. Kyle Kuzma was invisible for the majority of the contest, except for an embarrassing missed dunk, while the Wizards were down by one point.

The Sixers blew the game wide open after that missed dunk. It was at this moment that the Wizards looked like they were defeated. Beyond Kristaps Porzingis, the rest of the roster was not their best version that night.

However, the next game against the Sixers, in Philadelphia, was a different story. The defense improved, as the Sixers dropped from 55% shooting to 46%. Deni Avdija was a nightmare for the Sixers on the defensive end. His three blocks and overall great on-ball defense was the most important aspect of this win.

Kuzma showed up and looked like a different player from the previous game. Porzingis was still great, but his defense was better in this game. He looked like the all-star version of himself. He finished with 30 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks, while going 9-13 from the field.

More importantly, Beal was a LOT better. He was finishing at the rim this time out. Beal was the guy that closed out the win with help of Porzingis. They were the dynamic duo that we hoped to see out of them.

This was a great win and hopefully something that they can use to go forward.
