As time goes on, the future of the Washington Wizards seems more and more uncertain. The team started off red hot as they quickly rose to a top seed in the Eastern Conference, but as the weeks have passed, more injuries have piled up and so have the losses.

Depending on how you look at it, the Wizards are either one piece away from being a serious title contender, or long overdue for a rebuild. Both viewpoints are entirely valid and have some truth to them as well.

With a high level big three in Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma, and Kristaps Porzingis, it should be easy to build around them. However, due to various trade rules and bad contracts, the Wizards have completely failed in this regard.

They have numerous contracts that will be difficult to move, and the supporting cast is mediocre at best some nights. They do have players like Deni Avdija and Jordan Goodwin who fit really well with the big three. Both of these guys also have a lot of potential to be elite someday.

The defense of Avdija and Goodwin are enough to elevate the team when everybody else is playing well on offense, Daniel Gafford is another player like that. However, none of these three players have been good on offense this season, even receiving calls to be traded by some fans with the exclusion of Goodwin who has become a fan favorite due to his effort.

On the other side of the spectrum, there are rumors that Kuzma may be moved, opening the door for a swift rebuild if they get the right talent in return. This could grow exponentially if they decide to go all in on a rebuild and trade Beal or even Porzingis.

These moves could land the Wizards a myriad of draft picks and young talent, which could lead to a quick rebuild. This is something that many fans believe is the right move.

Rebuilding is definitely a tempting option for a front office that has struggled to make the playoffs with a high caliber scorer like Bradley Beal on the roster. But is it the right decision? Let’s take a look.
