The Washington Wizards continue their rough start to the season, extending their losing streak to seven games. The worst since Bradley Beal’s rookie season ignoring the bubble games. This season has completely gotten away from them already.

To make matters worse, Kristaps Porzingis joins fellow All-Star Bradley Beal on the injury list with back pain. This still does not give the Wizards an excuse to be this bad for the season. Especially since they were average at best when healthy earlier in the season.

The Brooklyn Nets travelled to the District of Columbia last night to take on the Washington Wizards in an early week matchup.

Kevin Durant led all scorers with 30 points for the Nets as they took down the Wizards rather easily at 112-100. The worst part about this game is the fact that it wasn’t even as close as the score says it was.

This was an ugly game for the Wizards from beginning to end. Even against a talented team like the Nets, there is no excuse to play as poorly as the Wizards did last night. Really disappointing coming from a team trying to contend for a championship.

Despite the loss and injury to Porzingis, there were somehow some bright spots in last night’s game. First, Will Barton finally decided to come out of his shell, dropping 22 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds. Second, Daniel Gafford had a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

That’s about it for the positives as Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis both pitched in 20 points, despite the latter leaving the game after only 24 minutes of playing time. Kuzma’s points did not come with great efficiency as he took 21 shots in the game.

This does very little to help the Wizards win or to boost his trade value ahead of trade season. Especially considering the fact that he missed all four of his free throws.

The rest of the season looks bleak for the Washington Wizards. They have two of their star players sidelined for an undetermined number of games and they have lacked success even with all three of their big names are playing. This season should probably be given up on now before it’s too late.
