The Washington Wizards need to choose a course of action and stick to it.

One of the biggest issues with the Washington Wizards this past year is that they look like they aren’t quite sure whether they are a contending team or a rebuilding team. Without the talent of Stephen Curry, this type of plan likely isn’t going to work out for any team in the league.

The best way to address this problem, and many others within the organization, is to choose what they want to do and actually do it. They need to actually execute and head in one set direction.

In the past they have chosen to go all in on contending by trading solid young players for solid aging players pushing them into mediocrity. This could be the reason they are so hesitant to make upgrades on the roster using young players as trade pieces.

However, if they do not want to trade any of their young players then they need to move the vets to begin a rebuild. This is especially true when there is a draft class as talented as the class of 2023.

It doesn’t matter what direction they decide to choose, they just need to make that decision and stick to it. This choice needs to be made sooner rather than later due to the NBA championship not having a clear favorite nearly halfway through the season while simultaneously having potentially multiple generational talents in the draft this summer.
