Three block buster Kyle Kuzma trade scenarios for the Wiz
Trade scenario No.3: D’Angelo Russell loads up in DC.
After trading everything but the kitchen sink for Rudy Gobert in the offseason and seeing little to no success, it is likely that the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to make a change to their roster. Where else to start but D’Angelo Russell?
Russell has had an up and down career, after being labeled as a bust in LA before becoming an All-Star for the Brooklyn Nets, he has now become the scapegoat again. This time for a team that has plenty of issues.
The Washington Wizards may be able to find that spark from his time with the Nets again by making him their franchise point guard. While a risky move, he is a free agent at the end of the season, and they may be able to resign him at a discounted rate.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves would be giving the keys to the offense over to Anthony Edwards, a player who has proven that he can lead a high caliber offense as he is leading his team to an improbable win streak.
Allowing Edwards to take that next step as a playmaker may allow the young guard to blossom into an MVP caliber player at some point in the future.
If the Washington Wizards make any of these three trades, they will find themselves in a better position than they are right now with a clear direction for the future. One could even possibly lead them to a championship some time down the road.
