In a slew of recent trade reports, it has become clear that the Washington Wizards are really going to try and pay Kyle Kuzma a ridiculous amount of money rather than believe in Rui Hachimura. This, of course, makes perfect sense for the Wizards because they love to chase mediocrity.

In the same wave of recent rumors that spread across the NBA like a wildfire, there were a few interesting names that seem intriguing for possible trades involving Hachimura. From Kelly Oubre to OG Anunoby, there are no shortages of interesting names in the trade market this time around.

Even with versatile forwards like Jae Crowder or John Collins available, nothing seems quite as interesting for the Wizards as the recent reports that John Wall is available for trade.

The Washington Wizards desperately need to reconnect with their fanbase.

Currently, the Washington Wizards are sitting in dead last for attendance rate in the NBA, only filling around 82.4% of their seats. Only five teams sell less tickets than the Wizards do, and they all have smaller arenas.

It’s clear that the fanbase has become disconnected from the team and if they want to fix this problem, they need to remedy a previous mistake.

Since trading John Wall, the Washington Wizards have gone through numerous starting point guards. There is no consistency there and it’s not likely to change.

Fans were already outraged over the Wall trade, but with recent interviews, the wounds cut deeper and sparked new outrage amongst those who were against the trade to begin with.

Wall is easily the most popular player in franchise history due to the way he embraced DC and helped the people of the city. No other star has come to the Wizards and have been both an All-NBA caliber player, and a man who wanted to help the city. Just John Wall.

While he has his own faults like showing up to training camp out of shape, enjoying his fair share of parties, and going through some controversies, he is still one of the greatest players in franchise history and likely the most popular basketball player in the District of Columbia.

Bringing Wall back in some sort of three team deal including Rui Hachimura seems like a real possibility. The Washington Wizards need to bring their ticket sales back up, bringing back, bringing back a player who was as in touch with the community as Wall was and still is, would go a long way.
