The Wizards didn’t have Kristaps Porzingis for the first time in a handful of games as he recovers from a sprained ankle, but that didn’t stop the Wiz from scoring a one point win at Dallas last week.

Washington looks to make it four wins in a row against the Rockets, the league’s worst team this season. The Wizards have some work to do to get into the play-in picture, one game behind the 10th place Bulls, but they are a road favorite on their second game of a five game road trip, can they keep it rolling without Porzingis?

Here are odds for Wednesday’s showdown:

Wizards vs. Rockets prediction and pick

The loss of Porzingis hurts as the Wizards are playing at an above league average rate over the last two weeks, but I don’t think that will factor into Wednesday’s matchup. The Rockets have the worst offense in the league this season and aren’t much better on defense, 28th in points allowed per 100 possessions, per Cleaning the Glass.

Kyle Kuzma filled in nicely into the lead front court role for Porzingis, scoring 30 points against a strong defense in Dallas. He was flanked by Bradley Beal who is back from his hamstring injury, and the team should keep it rolling against Houston.

Overall, this Houston team is the worst in the league. Yes, it beat the Timberwolves on Monday as six point underdogs, but this is too big of an upgrade in the market that they are now expected to win the game (or lose by one). I’ll take my chances with the better team against a team who recently lost 13 straight games.
