Anthony Black may be a better fit on the current roster than any other available player.

Standing at six foot seven, Anthony Black would fit next to Bradley Beal much better than Cason Wallace does. He is also far more versatile on the defensive end.

While Black lacks the scoring capabilities and the athleticism that Wallace has, he is a far superior playmaker and is much more skilled on the handle. He can create shots for his teammates at an elite level, which would be incredibly useful given his size.

Pairing a versatile playmaking guard who is around the size of a forward next to an undersized guard who can light up a scoreboard is a winning combination that is tested and true. This pick makes too much sense for the Wizards.

The biggest weaknesses in Black’s game are his hesitance to shoot the ball and his lack of efficiency when he does. Similarly to Steve Nash, he passes to a fault and needs to just shoot the ball sometimes. He also needs to raise his three-point percentage as he only shoots around 32.8% from beyond the arc in his college career.

Black is currently projected to go mid to late lottery, so once again, the Wizards would need a bit of luck in either the lottery or on draft day to pick him.

If the Wizards are able to snag either Cason Wallace or Anthony Black in the upcoming draft, either by trading up or getting extremely lucky, they will have a far more completed roster than any they have had in recent memory.
