Ahead of their game against the Washington Wizards tonight, Kevin Durant has missed a lengthy period of time and it has really held the Brooklyn Nets back at times. He is also most likely to miss this one as well.

Durant has not played a game since January eighth when he sprained his MCL against the Miami Heat. The Nets have felt his absence as they have only gone 4-7 since the injury. Some of the games where they won, they probably lose 99% of the time, including one of the most entertaining games of the season so far against the Golden State Warriors.

In their last game, a matchup where they got blown out of the water by the Boston Celtics, Kevin Durant was one of many listed on the injury report. Still listed as out in that game, Kevin Durant was not even a question for that game.

Before he reinjured his MCL, Kevin Durant was having himself a great season, being including in the MVP race and looking like he isn’t in his mid-thirties. This was looking to be one of the best seasons of his career.

Durant was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game on his typical dominant efficiency from the floor. When fans say he was in the midst of a great season, they mean it was great even for his high standards.

The Washington Wizards were already looking for a big win in this game, but with a player of KD’s caliber sitting out, it becomes much more likely, even if the game will be far less entertaining, we all hope for Durant’s health to improve.
