Bones Hyland has recently become available for trade.

The Denver Nuggets saw plenty of success last year with Bones Hyland as their backup point guard behind Monte Morris. However, he is not as necessary for them now that Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr have returned from their injuries.

Hyland is the typical bench microwave that every team gets every once in a while. Great scorer in spurts but doesn’t really do much outside of that. Think Lou Williams, Jordan Poole, or Jamal Crawford.

While those players are great to have when trying to stay relevant, you need consistent production out of your players if you want a championship. That is just something Hyland is not capable of right now.

This makes him a relatively cheap point guard on the trade market. While the Nuggets are likely looking for a two-way player, or maybe even a first round pick that they can flip for a one, it’s possible that the aforementioned Lakers picks could be enough to sway the Nuggets.

If not, the Wizards could include Will Barton and try to grab a player like Deandre Jordan off of the Nuggets bench. This is incredibly unlikely though since Jordan is the primary backup for the heavy favorite for MVP Nikola Jokic.
