The Washington Wizards could grab Dennis Schroder in a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

This one fits more along the fever dream idea that the Los Angeles Lakers have of reuniting LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Once again, the Brooklyn Nets could be convinced to make this trade if no better offer appears.

The Washington Wizards would be primarily offering draft picks in the trade. They would be playing the role of eating some cap space to make sure the trade works for both teams.

although they wouldn’t be the only team as the Lakers would also be giving up their 2027 and 2029 draft picks that they’ve been saving.

They would likely include all of the picks that the Lakers gave them in their previous transaction involving Rui Hachimura and Kendrick Nunn. While not being the best possible choice, it’s probably the cheapest option for the Wizards to upgrade at the point guard position.

Another variation of this trade that may be less likely to happen would see Schroder, Johnny Davis, and Isaiah Todd end up in Brooklyn with Patty Mills coming in to help the Wizards.

This trade would give the Washington Wizards the ability to trade one of their other point guards that hasn’t been as productive for a backup big, another area of concern for the Wizards roster.
