With the national media undoubtably focusing on LeBron James and his shiny new scoring title, the Washington Wizards have other things they’d like to focus on. Near the top of that list is whether or not Kyle Kuzma is playing.
Kyle Kuzma sprained his ankle after only 11 minutes of action in their Saturday night matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. This was a game where they got out to a huge 23-point lead and ended up losing to Cam Thomas and the first 40-point game of his recent stretch.
While he isn’t the only player on the injury report for the Wizards, he is easily the most impactful. Bradley Beal is the only other player on there and has not been great this season.
Kuzma is in the midst of an All-Star caliber season for the Wiz as he’s averaging over 20 points per game and over seven rebounds per game as well. His defense has stayed solid, and his playmaking has improved. The only drawback for him and his play has been the horrific efficiency displayed by him this season.
He has been a major catalyst of every win the Wizards have had this season and is still looking to bring them more. With his all-around play he has showcased this season, it is up to him to get this team to where they want to be.
If Kyle Kuzma plays tonight, it will be hige for the Washington Wizards as he is not only one of their most talented players, but he is also a great leader for the team as well.
Verdict: Kyle Kuzma will likely play tonight against the Hornets.
