The Washington Wizards try to end skid as they host the Hornets
The Washington Wizards are in the midst of one of the most embarrassing losing streaks of the season. They were up 20+ points in two of their last three games and lost the third by 23 in a comeback effort. They have been presented with a great opportunity to end this nasty streak as they host the Charlotte Hornets for a Wednesday night matchup.
They have been a streaky team all season, tending to win or lose several games in a row before switching around and doing the opposite. This trend can be incredibly annoying as they’ll be on the verge of being as high as the eight seed and then fall back to the 11 or 12 seed almost immediately.
Luckily, one of the small handful of teams with a worse record than the Wizards are the Hornets, meaning they already have a small advantage heading into the game. Unfortunately, they aren’t full healthy right now.
As of Tuesday night, both Kyle Kuzma and Bradley Beal are listed as day-to-day on the injury report. Kuzma missed their last game with an ankle sprain that he obtained in their Saturday night matchup against the Brooklyn Nets and Beal has a foot injury that kept him sidelined during their last game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Even with a player of Kristaps Porzingis’ caliber on the roster, the Wizards will need both of these guys to pull off any win. Especially since the Hornets are the healthiest, they have been nearly all season, even with Kelly Oubre and Cody Martin both hurt. They have LaMelo Ball, Gordan Hayward, and Terry Rozier all healthy and available.
If the Washington Wizards want to win this game, they will need Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma to both play tonight. They will also need Deni Avdija to return to his ‘Turbo’ form that has been on and off the last few games.
