The Washington Wizards are finally on the right side of a massive comeback run having been outscored by 15 points in the first quarter and going on to win the game. This is a great sign as they blew two big leads like this in a row only a short while ago.

They came to Minnesota to face the Timberwolves after a tough loss against the Golden State Warriors where they built up a double-digit lead in the first quarter and then proceeded to give up 77 points in the second and third quarters.

This win could be massive for the confidence of the Washington Wizards.

Not only was this Kyle Kuzma’s second game back, and wasn’t horrible, although his efficiency left plenty to be desired, but they were able to stay afloat despite his horrendous first half.

Kristaps Porzingis and Deni Avdija combined with Kyle Kuzma for only four made shots despite over 20 attempts between the trio. Despite this, the deficit was only in the single digits at halftime. Each of the three played better in the second half and were major parts of the comeback effort.

For a team that is very well documented to be a top-heavy team to stay in the game despite three of their five best players having horrific shooting performances is impressive. Even more so when they are able to complete the comeback effort behind an improved performance from those three players.

In addition to all of this, Corey Kispert made four threes and Bradley Beal scored 35 points. The game looked really ugly at times, but also incredibly solid at others, it could be a huge confidence boost for them.

Big games like this can have ripple effects for the rest of the season. This could be the turning point for the Washington Wizards as they look to nab a playoff spot. We will have to wait until after the All-Star break to find out.
