While there have been great players this season, Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma, and Kristaps Porzingis have all had All-Star caliber seasons, there have been a few disappointing players for the Washington Wizards as well.

This was to be expected as the team overall has severely underperformed. Many fans expected the Wizards to be safely in the Play-In tournament if not in the playoffs outright, however, they are fighting to stay in the postseason picture right now. Two losses to the Toronto Raptors could push them down below the Play-In line.

There have been a few reasons for the team disappointing this season: the coaching was questionable, there was little consistency on offense, the defense was iffy, some players didn’t live up to expectations, and they suffer from a complete lack of team identity. Any one of these problems is enough to cause a team to sink in the standings, not to mention all of them together.

The Wizards have done an okay job at trying to turn things around. They moved Rui Hachimura, a player who stopped the ball on offense. They waived Will Barton who was just not good this season. Probably the most important was the signing of Jordan Goodwin, a player who started the year on a two-way deal and quickly proved that he deserves a spot in the big leagues.

Still, these moves have only moved the needle slightly as there are still a number of players on the roster who are underwhelming and many of the recurring issues still remain.
