Hawks vs. Wizards prediction and odds for Wednesday, March 8 (Trust Wiz on back-to-back)
By Peter Dewey
The Washington Wizards picked up a road win over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night, and they’re looking to keep that momentum heading into a home date with the Atlanta Hawks.
Washington didn’t cover the spread against the Pistons, but it did enough to win and maintain the No. 10 seed in the East.
Now, the Wizards are home dogs against the Hawks, who lost two straight games to the Miami Heat and are just a half game ahead of the Toronto Raptors. There’s no reason Washington can’t catch the Hawks in the play-in standings, and this is a big game for the Wizards’ chances of doing so.
The Wizards didn’t have Monte Morris last night due to injury, and it’s possible he sits out again on the second night of a back-to-back.
Here are the odds and a pick for this game:

Hawks vs. Wizards prediction and pick
The Hawks are under new leadership with Quin Snyder taking over as the team’s head coach, but I’m not sold on him turning around a disturbing trend for the team this season.
Atlanta is just 3-7 against the spread as a road favorite this season, and the Hawks have dropped five straight road games (two to Miami, one to Charlotte, New Orleans and Denver).
The Hawks also lost at home to Washington, (119-116) in February.
I love that the Wizards are catching 3.5 here, and I’m going to gladly take the points with them. Washington is just 6-8 ATS as home dog, but the team has gone 8-4 against the spread on the second night of a back-to-back this season.
That’s one of the best marks in the league, and the Wizards actually have the same net rating as Atlanta this season.
Take the points with the home dog on Wednesday.
