Johnny Davis hasn’t played much for the Washington Wizards in his rookie season.

While he has had stretches of solid play in the G-League with the Capital City Go-Go, he hasn’t been able to replicate any of that success at the NBA level. He has been one of the most disappointing players in the entire league this season.

While he may be in just his rookie season, the Wizards have made it clear that they want to win now, spending the remainder of Bradley Beal’s prime trying to develop a shooting guard may not be in their plans.

Instead, he may find himself needing to prove himself near the end of the season if standings are decided with a few games remaining in the schedule. If he isn’t able to produce in any game where he is given minutes at the NBA level, he may not be on the Wizards roster next year.

Instead, he may be involved in a package to send him to a young team willing to spend the time developing a young shooting guard. If they pick the right team, they may be able to receive a starting caliber point guard.

He would likely need to be alongside other players like Anthony Gill or the next player on this list in order to get moved though. He has shown very little as a player, although he has grown through the year and has shown some flashed of being a quality player in the future. He would still need to be part of a package deal.

Unfortunately, it would make sense for the Wizards to cut their losses and move on from the young guard for an upgrade to the one spot.
