The Washington Wizards are in danger of missing the play-in tournament in the Eastern Conference, sitting 2.5 games out of the No. 10 seed after losing their last four games.

Washington is just 2-8 in its last 10, and Kyle Kuzma and Bradley Beal are both dealing with injuries, leaving them in question for Friday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Spurs, who have the worst net rating in the NBA, have been in full-blown tank mode, sitting Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, Tre Jones and others recently.

San Antonio is a sizable underdog here, and rightfully so given how poorly it has played as of late. Can bettors trust the Wizards to end their losing streak and cover the spread with a win?

Let’s examine the odds and my best bet for this game:

Spurs vs. Wizards odds, spread and total

Spurs vs. Wizards prediction and pick

There aren’t many reasons to like the Wizards’ play as of late, but they should have the edge over this Spurs team that has been awful all season long.

As a road underdog this season, the Spurs are 11-24 against the spread, losing those games by an average margin of 14.3 points. That’s nearly double what tonight’s spread is.

Kuzma and Beal’s status could shift the line in this game, but the Wizards have a lot more to play for than San Antonio with the No. 10 seed slipper further and further out of reach.

San Antonio, with several players sitting out, has lost its last two games by 35 and 36 points.

Unless the Spurs decide to suit up everyone against the Wizards tonight, I think we could be in line for another blowout loss on Friday.
