Orchestrating a Thomas Bryant homecoming could benefit both parties
A former starter for the Washington Wizards, Thomas Bryant has spent this season on both the Lakers and the Nuggets. He has been a quality player off the bench for both teams and could bring much of that with him in a possible return to the Wizards.
Most Wizards fans will be familiar with his game, but Thomas Bryant is a capable shot blocker but is primarily used as an off the ball scoring threat as he shoots 36.6% from beyond the arc for his career and is incredibly efficient around the rim as well. He even led the league in two-point field goal percentage in his 2018-’19 campaign.
Having this kind of well-rounded skillset as a 25-year-old center isn’t overly common, but he is having trouble finding a spot in the Nuggets rotation in the postseason. However, this is likely more due to the transcendent talent of Nikola Jokic than anything actually wrong with Bryant.
The Wizards may be a tempting offer as they have issues keeping their main two centers, Daniel Gafford and Kristaps Porzingis, healthy and out of foul trouble so Bryant may receive some serious playing time with his old team.
