Dennis Smith Jr could finally find a home in The District

While there was plenty of hype around Dennis Smith Jr when he first entered the league with the Dallas Mavericks, he was quickly thrust into the background with the emergence of Luka Doncic. Since then, Smith Jr has struggled to find a home in the league.

He is an elite athlete who can jump out of the gym and outrun probably 90% of his peers. On top of this, he has emerged as a secondary playmaker for the Charlotte Hornets, but there is still plenty of work to be done on that front.

If a team needs a player who can come in and make a ridiculously athletic play off of a steal, Dennis Smith Jr is their guy. This is almost exactly what the Wizards needed at the point guard position all season. On top of that, as stated earlier, he can facilitate an offense to a certain extent.

This seems like a low-risk high-reward type of move for the Wizards if they bring in the former top-ten pick. If they can tap into some of that potential while bringing him in on a minimum deal, they would greatly benefit.
