The Washington Wizards gain the third pick in the draft

I’m just going to say this now, there is no way this happens. Not only is the third overall pick’s trade value higher than Bradley Beal’s, but so is Anfernee Simons’. This is probably the least likely trade of the six to happen. Anyway, let’s look at why this has no shot of occurring.

For the Portland Trailblazers, they not only give up 23-year-old who averaged two less points per game than Bradley Beal on pretty similar efficiency for the 29-year-old former All-Star, but they are also giving up two other young prospects and potentially a generational talent as well.

This third pick will either be Brandon Miller or Scoot Henderson. Both players would be the consensus number one overall pick in any other year. Why then, would this pick be traded for a player like Bradley Beal, especially since the Trailblazers already tried to win with a similar player next to Damian Lillard in CJ McCollum? This trade makes no sense for this team.

For the Washington Wizards, nobody would even spend a second thinking about it. It would be an automatic yes and embrace the rebuild. This is a ridiculous amount of talent to receive for Beal even at his peak when he averaged 30 points per game and earned his current contract.

If this trade happens, the new front office will all gain a spot in the Hall of Fame.
