Every season, it feels as though the Washington Wizards and Bradley Beal find themselves dumped into the NBA rumor mill. They’ve been a consistently middle-of-the-pack team for years, and they can’t seem to get out of that cycle.

Washington hasn’t made the playoffs in two years now, and they haven’t made it out of the first round since 2017. The last time they were a second-round playoff team since Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat were top-five on the team in minutes per game.

However, the rumors swirling this summer seem to have a bit more life to them, as reports of a potential rebuild are ramping up. And with those talks, Beal’s name is back in the mix.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, if the Wizards were to hit the reset button, the team and Beal’s agent would work together to find an adequate trade, as the star guard has a no-trade clause in his contract.

Beal inked a massive contract extension with the Wizards last offseason and is now under contract for the next four seasons, including a player option in the final year.

Charania reported that the Miami Heat will be the top team inquiring about a potential Beal trade this summer, but there will undoubtedly be others.

The 29-year-old guard is a two-time All-Star and has multiple 30-point-per-game seasons under their belt in the past four years. In the right situation, he could be the missing piece.
