No. 9: Detroit Pistons
With Monty Williams on board, the Detroit Pistons will likely be looking to push forward and compete for the playoffs. Would they be willing to make a splash in order to do that?
A trade like this would see the Pistons take a massive leap of faith in their young core, but considering the talent on the roster, it may not be the most unrealistic concept to consider.
That being said, trading for a guy like Bradley Beal, especially on his current contract, could be a bit too risky for Detroit. At the same time, it would give them a much better shot at a playoff spot.
And while the fit of Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, and Beal is a bit questionable, maybe the Pistons are okay with playing a smaller first three considering Cunningham’s size.
The Washington Wizards would be landing two intriguing young prospects who could be in need of a new home. Given enough freedom and playing time, Marvin Bagley III and Killian Hayes could both potentially hit a new gear.
Neither has quite lived up to their potential thus far, but maybe something could change in Washington. At the very least, they are slightly intriguing younger pieces.
The real kicker for Washington in this deal would be the 31st pick and two future first-rounders, as they would be banking on the idea that Detroit could flop.
