Following the deal that saw Bradley Beal land with the Phoenix Suns, the Washington Wizards have now flipped future Hall of Famer Chris Paul to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Jordan Poole, Ryan Rollins, and two future second-round picks.

This is huge as it now gives the Wizards a return package of Jordan Poole, Ryan Rollins, Landry Shamet, and a haul of second-round picks, and a couple of first-round swaps for Bradley Beal. This is a far better return than anybody could have expected for the long-time vet.

Mix this with the Kristaps Porzingis trade and they have had a pretty good offseason so far, now having a mountain of trade assets and now starting to collect serious second-round draft capital.

This move sets up the Wizards for a huge rebuild, allowing them to really go hard for a top pick in next year’s draft.

Now let’s look at the full trade details

Washington Wizards receive:

Jordan Poole, Landry Shamet, Ryan Rollins, six second-round picks, four first-round pick swaps and a 2030 protected first-round pick.

Phoenix Suns receive:

Bradley Beal, Jordan Goodwin, and Isaiah Todd.

Golden State Warriors receive:

Chris Paul

This was a huge haul for the Washington Wizards, not bad for a team that had no leverage.
