Cam Reddish

The 23-year-old small forward out of Duke has been underwhelming so far in his NBA career. His three-pointer hasn’t been falling at the rate he would have hoped and his defensive upside hasn’t materialized so far. However, with his age, size, and physical tools, there is still hope for Reddish.

Reddish may be a career %32 shooter from downtown but he has good form and willingness to take the three-pointer. He can attack the rim off the dribble. If he improves his shot, he will have more opportunities to attack and take advantage of the driving lanes.

The main appeal for Reddish is his 6’8 frame. He fits the mold of a modern 2-way wing. He certainly has the potential to be a 3-and-D forward, if he figures a few things out. And the Wizards need players who fit that bill. Outside of Corey Kispert, the Wizards do not have small forward-size players. There will be an opportunity for Reddish to shine.

The Washington Wizards need to look for low-risk swings like Reddish. The Portland Trail Blazers might not want to match an offer sheet for Reddish if the price is out of their range since they have higher aspirations.

Reddish will most likely not cost much but has the ability to outplay his contract easily. If it doesn’t work out, it’s not a big deal, the Wizards can move on to take a swing at the next 3-and-D potential.
