Washington Wizards: 2023 Summer League roster and schedule
By Cem Yolbulan
The NBA offseason is in full swing, and the Summer League is about to kick off. The Washington Wizards, who will participate in the Las Vegas Summer League starting on Saturday, July 8, just announced their roster for the tournament.
The 11-player roster is headlined by two Wizards draftees Bilal Coulibaly and Tristan Vukcevic, as well as the tenth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Johnny Davis. The Wizards roster consists of the following players:
Kyle Alexander
Jules Bernard
Xavier Cooks
Bilal Coulibaly
Johnny Davis
Quenton Jackson
Osun Osunniyi
D.J. Stewart
Dejan Vasiljevic
Tristan Vukcevic
Donovan Williams
The summer league will be an excellent opportunity for Davis to get more on-ball reps and take strides, while Coulibaly and Vukcevic will acclimate to the NBA game.
Xavier Cooks, who played in 10 games for the Wizards, and Quenton Jackson, who was on a two-way contract with Washington last season, are also trying to make an impression in Las Vegas to try to make the final Wizards roster.
The Washington Wizards will take a look at all of these players before making a final decision about their roster spots for the 2023-24 season. Teams are allowed three players on two-way contracts, so we could see a few of these players grab one of those spots depending on their summer league showing.
The Washington Wizards play their first game of the summer on Saturday, July 8. Their schedule for the duration of the tournament is as follows:
Saturday, July 8 @ 8:00 pm vs Indiana
Sunday, July 9 @7:30 pm – vs Boston
Tuesday, July 11 @10:30 pm – vs San Antonio
Friday, July 14 @5:00 pm – Oklahoma City
The Summer League is always fun and exciting. Players play extremely hard with the hopes of making the team. It is also a fantastic chance to take a first look at Bilal Coulibaly and Tristan Vukcevic in a Washington uniform, as well as scout potential future Wizards. Let’s hope we get to see some players who can be a part of the future.
