The peak of free agency is behind us and the teams are almost done constructing their roster. Yet, there are still free agents left on the market that could help teams. This includes the Washington Wizards.

No high-profile free agents are left in the market anymore. Most players that are still on the market will likely sign for minimum or slightly-above minimum contracts. Teams are waiting for the Las Vegas Summer League to be over before deciding on their final roster spots. If any player catches their eye with their play in Las Vegas, teams will likely prioritize signing them. Available free agents are also watching this dynamic play out before making a decision about their future.

The Washington Wizards have the spending power to outbid potential competitors if they want to sign a player. The Wizards still have the non-taxpayer mid-level exception left, worth over $12 million annually. They could use the entirety or part of this to lure a free agent. However, whether they will choose to do that is an open question.

The Wizards currently are in a roster crunch. They have 16 players under contract and one on a two-way deal. They will have to bring that number to 15 before the regular season starts. Danilo Gallinari, Delon Wright, and Mike Muscala are potential trade candidates that can help open up roster spots. Plus, the new CBA allows three two-way players, so the Wizards could bring a young player in on a two-way contract as well.

Washington has a deep roster full of young and talented players. They presumably want to develop the players they currently have, but it can’t hurt to bring in more youth and talent. Especially ones that fill a need and fit well with the rest of the roster. They could use some frontcourt depth, shooting, and athleticism. But more importantly, they need players that fit their timeline.

Fortunately for them, there are a few players still available to them on the market. Let’s take a look at them.
