Bilal Coulibaly will be getting the rookie treatment this year

Rookies rarely receive good ratings to start the season. Until this summer, the record was an 81 overall most recently held by Zion Williamson. However, that record has been broken this season as Victor Wembanyama is starting the year at an 84 overall in 2K24.

Unfortunately, Bilal Coulibaly will probably not see the same rating as his former teammate. Lottery pick rookies typically end up in the 70s range. To figure out a good estimate for where the seventh overall pick will land, I’ll take a look at similar players drafted in previous drafts and their ratings.

Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors is the most similar player to Coulibaly. Coming into the NBA, he was seen as a tall and skinny player with tremendous defensive ability but still very raw on offense drafted seventh overall. Sound familiar?

Kuminga was given a 75 overall in his rookie season making this a realistic expectation for the Wizards’ rookie.

Although, recently Anthony Black was given a 73 overall, something that most if not all fans disagree with. This makes Coulibaly more likely to be a 72 overall, the same rating as 11th overall pick Jett Howard.
