Deni Avdija may grow significantly throughout the year, but will likely start the season off low

Deni Avdija had a strong end to the season following the decision to shut the season down after they were all but eliminated from the Play-In Tournament. However, it was likely not enough to garner too much of a rating increase.

Last season, Avdija averaged 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. On top of his counting stats, he is a great defender, not quite elite, but definitely close. This makes him at least an ok NBA player.

However, 2K does not favor defenders who struggle to score the ball. They consistently receive ratings that fail to represent what they bring to the table, meaning that many will feel as if the Wizards’ forward is underrated in the game.

Last season, he was given a rating of 76 overall, a low number for sure. He is likely not going to go too much higher to start the year, but is most likely going to see some sort of improvement.

I feel as if a 77 or 78 overall is a fair rating for the 22-year-old forward from Israel.
