Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Talk about a player that every team needs. As role players go, it doesn’t get any better than Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

One of the most under-the-radar disastrous moves the previous front office in Washington did was trading Caldwell-Pope to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Monte Morris and Will Barton; two players who are no longer with the Wizards.

Since being traded away from Washington, all KCP has been doing is winning. After dominating the regular season and the playoffs last season, the Denver Nuggets picked up where they left off and Caldwell-Pope has been no exception. They are 9-2 and Caldwell-Pope has played in every single game and played the second-most minutes on the team.

Not only does KCP continue to be one of the most reliable 3-and-D players in the NBA, but he is also having his most efficient shooting season so far as well. He is shooting 48.1% from the field and 45% from three, both career-highs. He is still guarding the opposing team’s most dangerous perimeter-scoring threat.

The Denver Nuggets continue to be one of the favorites to win it all. And if they do, Caldwell-Pope will almost certainly play a huge role. The Wizards fans will be happy for him if he wins back-to-back championships, but this franchise definitely can’t allow winning players of his caliber to go again.
