The moment the Washington Wizards were revealed as the winner of the NBA Draft Lottery, the camera panned to projected top pick AJ Dybantsa, who sat there with his business face on.

Immediately, media narratives were pushed that the versatile forward has no desire to suit up in Washington, which soon led to reports surfacing that Dybantsa and his camp were hoping that the Utah Jazz, who landed the No. 2 overall pick, would earn the top selection.

A preference is one thing, but for the media to attempt to paint the narrative that the talented prospect was disappointed about the lottery results is another.

Nonetheless, Dybantsa's rounds in the media quickly cleared things up, suggesting that he simply had "no reaction" and was attempting to keep things strictly business.

What should completely shut down the narrative, though, is Dybantsa's recent YouTube video that showcases the entire behind-the-scenes experience for the top prospect, which showed his authentic reaction after the results were shown.

AJ Dybantsa clearly wasn't disappointed about the Wizards landing No. 1

Dybantsa's full YouTube video gives you a better glance at the whole experience, but the clip below alone should showcase the lack of disappointment for the talented wing.

Dybantsa directly said he knew he was going to Washington and that everyone on Twitter (X) was calling it.

The projected top pick also admitted that he made eye contact with John Wall and had to stop himself from laughing, which only adds proof to the fact that when the camera panned to him, he was simply trying to keep a business face.

It's clear that Dybantsa is more than content with playing in Washington, and considering how much the organization has been hyped up as of late, it's clear that he's hoping he lands in the DMV.

AJ Dybantsa is ready to be a Wizard

Dybantsa wants to be selected No. 1 and the Wizards need a franchise player to build around.

Washington seems to have no plans to move down in the draft order unless a team truly blows them away with an offer, so if they stand pat, it feels like all signs point to Dybantsa being the pick.

Obviously, staying in Utah was a storyline, but it feels like that preference from Dybantsa was more based on the fact that he built a foundation in the state and less about the Wizards being the team that landed the top selection.

We're less than two weeks away from these conversations officially being put to rest, and then Washington can officially move forward with confidence.
