Bilal Coulibaly's been in plenty of conversations when it comes to his future with the Washington Wizards.

Following his rookie season, it was clear that his raw talent would add an extra level of difficulty to his development in D.C., but with the flashes he showed, it was clear that if he panned out the wait would be well worth the prize.

Coulibaly shined early as a defensive standout and while he's seemingly regressed in that area solely because of his over-aggressive playing style, that's something that can be fixed solely with discipline.

You can't teach instincts or size and that's two things the French product thrives at, which is alone what made his potential standout to Washington's front office.

Entering his sophomore season, it was evident from the jump that offensively, Coulibaly had put in work from the summer before.

The guard's offense looked more polished and dare I say fluent, at least in comparison to what it looked during his rookie campaign.

While his numbers aren't efficient, the improvements he made on that side of the court were enough to increase the hope that eventually, he could pan out to be the building block the Wizards hoped he could become when they selected him at No. 7 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft.

However, there's still plenty of progress left to be made and if Coulibaly can clear up his offensive game and develop into a well-rounded player, he'll immediately become the two-way threat the Wizards are seeking.

To do that, he'll need to find a way to become a consistent offensive player.

Obviously, becoming a knock down shooter is one way to do that. Coulibaly's jumper has already shown progress and if he can begin to drain shots at a higher rate, he immediately becomes a threat that opposing teams have to pay attention to on offense.

In addition to that, if the oversized guard can manage to develop his game as a playmaker, he'll not only open up offense for the rest of his teammates, but the more pressure he applies on opposing defenses will open the game up for himself, too.

Looking around the league at some of the best two-way players, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown stands out.

Brown's major leap in the league came from his development on offense and not just improving his jumper, but when his playmaking came around is really when the game began to open up for him.

If Coulibaly can find a way to take that leap himself, Washington could be in a good spot with him cemented as a building block.
