Bleacher Report’s latest Wizards trade idea makes absolutely no sense

The Washington Wizards have made it clear that they're open for business when it comes to potential trades.

Looking back at the abundance of moves from general manager Will Dawkins over the last year, Washington's front office has proven time and time again that if a deal makes sense, they won't be shy to pull the trigger.

Hence the key words "makes sense."

If a deal doesn't benefit the Wizards, there's no reason for a rebuilding team like Washington to put themselves in a situation that wouldn't benefit them in someway shape or form.

In a recent mock trade from Bleacher Report's Andy Bailey, the Wizards would not only be offloading arguably the best veteran they've added in recent memory, but they'd be taking a trip down memory lane that both the front office and fanbase would like to leave in the past.

Wizards send McCollum to MIL for Kuzma in package

This hypothetical trade would send CJ McCollum to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Andre Jackson Jr and a 2032 first-round pick swap that would be top-five protected.

Considering the Wizards offloaded Kuzma's contract ahead of the NBA trade deadline in February in exchange for a deal headlined by the lucrative contract of Khris Middleton, it's hard to believe Washington would essentially back track by taking Kuzma's deal back on the books.

Not only were the Wizards motivated to move on from Kuzma's contract when they pulled the trigger on the deal with the Bucks, but they were also thrilled by the chance to move on from the disgruntled forward.

Kuzma's tenure in Washington came to an abrupt end after the veteran's inconsistent play was followed by a poor attitude and constant questionable remarks to the media about his position on the Wizards rebuilding team.

Since Kuzma's departure, Washington's culture has seemingly turned around for the better with several intriguing prospects joining the mix.

Will Dawkins and head coach Brian Keefe are building a team full of players who are willing to put the team first and buy-in to the rebuilding process in the DMV.

Making a move to reacquire Kuzma would not only make absolutely no sense, but it could potentially set the Wizards backwards, especially when the 2032 first-round pick swap is the only positive asset in the entire deal.

Relying on that pick to convey in the Wizards favor isn't worth the negative outcomes that could follow Kuzma returning to Washington, especially considering McCollum's money comes of the Wizards books after this season.
