The NBA trade deadline is officially one week away and the rumors continue to swirl as teams await the Giannis Antetokounmpo domino to fall.

Each year, nearly every team in the league finds some way to get involved on the fun whether that's playoff caliber teams making bold swings, contenders looking to upgrade their depth chart or rebuilding team's hoping to land additional assets by way of facilitating a trade or absorbing unwanted contracts.

For the Washington Wizards, it's hard to predict exactly what to expect following their blockbuster trade to land four-time All-Star Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks this past month.

Between that and the Wizards' activity on the market ahead of last February's deadline landing several veterans such as Khris Middleton and Marcus Smart, Washington's one of the hardest teams to predict.

Especially considering the fact that the Wizards have been linked to several big names such as Zion Williamson, Domantas Sabonis and even Jonathan Kuminga.

However, one name that has recently been linked to the Wizards in a recent article by Bleacher Report makes absolutely zero sense.

Bleacher Report list Sam Hauser as an ideal target for Wizards

In an article by Dan Favale of Bleacher Report, each team across the league was given three top trade targets ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

For the Wizards, one name in particular that was tied to Washington just simply doesn't make sense for a variety of reason.

That player? Boston Celtics' sharpshooter Sam Hauser.

Hauser is averaging 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists on the season, whie shooting 42.1% from field goal range and 40.4% from beyond the arc.

The Virginia product is a former undrafted prospect that has carved out a solid role in Beantown by way of his marksmanship from behind the three-point line.

Nonetheless, with many believing the 28-year-old could be a candidate to be moved ahead of the deadline as the C's look to duck the luxury tax by offloading salary.

Typically, a move like that would be right up the Wizards alley, but the simple fact is the Celtics' don't view Hauser as a throw-away trade chip, but instead a real asset on their team.

To move on from Hauser, it would have to be apart of a bigger deal or come by way of landing real value; something Washington should not be willing to offer.

Favale's comments on Hauser only make the reason not to trade for him more obvious:

"Nabbing him [ Hauser] would typically require giving up stuff," Favale said. "If he's acquired as part of the Boston Celtics shimmying beneath the tax, the Wizards might be able to absorb him for nothing or by surrendering modest compensation."

Boston won't offload Hauser for nothing and he's not a player that would warrant the Wizards to give up real value, especially as they look to create more playing time for the current wings on the roster.
