The Washington Wizards entered Thursday's battle with the Charlotte Hornets looking to grab their second win over Charles Lee's team in the last week.

Washington knocked off the Hornets last Thursday with a 123-114 win and they looked to do the same for the second time in front of Capital One Arena. After leading by 21 points, the Wizards seemed to be in sole control of the game until LaMelo Ball and the Hornets made a late run in the fourth quarter.

The Wizards seemed poised to return to their normal ways and fall to Charlotte after their run, but Jordan Poole rose to the occasion and added on to his already impressive night. The Michigan product knocked down a go-ahead three pointer with 8.1 seconds left that put the Wizards in the lead and ultimately led to Washington closing out the Hornets 113-110.

Following the win, here's a look at the top three performances from the Wizards win.

Jordan Poole

Not only did Poole save the day late, but the guard was one of the biggest reasons that the Wizards were in sole possession of the game for the majority of the battle. The 25-year-old finished the night with 25 points, six rebounds and three assists, while shooting 36.8% from field goal range (7/19 FG) and 33.3% from three (5/15 3PT).

In addition to his offense, Poole also contributed two blocks and a steal on defense.

Bilal Coulibaly

Bilal Coulibaly joined his backcourt partner in the fun with his own solid performance. The French product finished the game with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists, while shooting 37.5% from field goal range (6/16 FG).

This marks six straight games where Coulibaly has notched a double digit scoring night which alone is a win for Wizards fans expecting a lot for the former lottery pick.

Wizards Bench

Arguably the biggest reason for the Wizards win on Thursday was the contribution from the team's bench. Between contributions from Jonas Valanciunas (14 points), Corey Kispert (13 points) and Malcolm Brogdon (11 points), Washington finished the night with 38 bench points.

Outscoring the Hornets bench 38-20, Washington's bench unit deserves their flowers for a huge night that helped boost Brian Keefe's squad to their fifth win of the season.

The Wizards now sit at 5-23 with a chance to begin a winning streak with the New York Knicks next up on their schedule.
