The Washington Wizards struggles throughout the season have been hard to ignore as they currently lead the sweepstakes for the No. 1 overall pick in this offseason's NBA Draft.
With a 6-40 record, there's no shock that the Wizards are likely headed into the NBA trade deadline with an open mind when it comes to a total roster shakeup, excluding the team's young core of course.
However, with veterans like Kyle Kuzma, Jonas Valancinas, Malcolm Brogdon and even Jordan Poole potentially in a situation to be dealt ahead of next week's deadline, frustrations continue to boil over as their losing streak extends to 15 games.
Of the players beginning to speak out on the Wizards losing tendencies is Kuzma, who's future in Washington is about as uncertain as they come.
Kyle Kuzma speaks out on Wizards horrid stretch of losses
Following the Wizards loss to the Toronto Raptors, Kuzma spoke out in his postgame interview claiming that everybody talks, but at the end of the day, it's about doing your job.
The fact of the matter is, although Kuzma may be on his way out, he's absolutely right about the Wizards struggles. The quote below only emphasizes the issues behind closes doors for Washington.
"You can kumbaya, you can coddle, but at the end of the day we gotta get a win. Everybody feels it. You Guys feel it, the fans feel it."Kyle Kuzma
There's no doubt that the Wizards are young and their lack of talent is clearly contributing to their lack of wins during this rebuilding year, but it's more than just that. Washington's effort is inconsistent from top to bottom and while Kuzma may be the one saying it, he has been apart of the issues at times this season.
Despite the lack of talent on the roster, it all comes down to the fact that Washington has 15 NBA-level players that have the ability to suit up on a nightly basis. The 6-40 record alone is worrisome, but coming off a performance where the Wizards totaled 82 points as a team is quite frankly embarassing.
This is Kuzma's second time in recent weeks airing out his thoughts about the state of the team with his last comments suggesting that he was no longer worried about the development of his teammates.
Nonetheless, with Kuzma's days in Washington limited, the Utah product has no problem letting his thoughts on his current situation be known.
