LaMelo Ball is one of the premiere talents in the NBA as he continues to look like a future face of the league.
The Charlotte Hornets guard has developed into a star throughout the start of his career in Buzz City, but up to this point of his career, he's yet to be involved in a winning culture.
Considering the past of the Hornets, the team hasn't found much success since the early days of Kemba Walker's tenure in Charlotte, which is why it doesn't come as much of a surprise to see one of the most struggling organizations in the league remain at the bottom of the NBA standings.
However, the talent on the roster is what makes the Hornets struggles the most confusing.
Between the likes of Ball, Miles Bridges, Brandon Miller and now Kon Knueppel, Charlotte has the firepower and supporting cast to be firmly in the mix of the Eastern Conference; at least that was the expectation.
Nonetheless, after yet another lackluster start to the season, Ball's frustration with the team's poor play has seemingly finally boiled over with reports of the playmaker being open to a trade out of the city he's called home for the last six years.
Obviously, several teams will be interested in a 6-foot-7 guard, who remains years away from reaching his prime at 24-years-old.
And for the Washington Wizards, who also finds themselves in the midst of a rebuilding phase, it may not be the most appealing landing spot for a player like Ball who wants to win now.
Nonetheless, the Wizards have both the young talent and draft capital that if Charlotte truly is open to moving on from their star guard, a trade very much could be on the table for Washington, who's proven they're not scared to pull the trigger on a trade they feel makes them better.
Looking at the overwhelming question mark surrounding the Wizards future at point guard, it wouldn't be a shock to see Washington become aggressive if the right trade target becomes available.
A young player like Ball, who's averaging 21.1 points, 7.5 assists and 6.0 rebounds on his career may be the best trade candidate possible for a team looking to sure up arguably the most important position on the roster.
Solidifying their point guard position would not only give the Wizards a strong foundation of Ball, Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George, but it would allow the team to take a swing on potential next offseason rather than drafting for need.
Not to mention, the Wizards may be able to use the presence of Ball to lure pending free agents to the DMV.
