The Washington Wizards have had plenty of talented players walk through their doors and represent the District of Columbia over the years.

From Michael Jordan, to Gilbert Arenas, John Wall and Bradley Beal, the Wizards and their fans have had the luxury of seeing some talented players suit up for the City. Despite the talent to suit up for Washington, the franchise only has one NBA championship to show for it.

Nonetheless, according to Arenas on a new episode of his podcast "No Chill Gil", the former NBA star suggested that Washington had another young player with the potential to be great on their roster at one point as well.

Gilbert Arenas claims Nick Young had Kobe Bryant-like potential

Arenas made a claim on his show that his former teammate Nick Young, also known as "Swaggy P", had all the potential in the world but his lack of basketball IQ hindered his success in the NBA.

"He can score his midrange which is pure. He's just dumb like a box of rocks like c'mon man, his name is Swaggy P. There's nothing in his name that got a P in it"
Gilbert Arenas

Young had it all according to the former Wizards star, who quickly became friends with the guard during their five years together in Washington. Arenas was the former first-round pick's veteran during his rookie season with the team, and the two became quite close off the court. Hence why Arenas doesn't hold back when speaking about his former teammate.

"He's the only person in this league that if you say, follow up everything that Kobe does on that court, he can mimic it to the tee. Nick Young had a 42-inch vertical"
Gilbert Arenas

Young played five seasons for the Wizards, where he put together his best year during the 2010/11 season. During that season, the USC product averaged 17.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists, while shooting 44.1% from field goal range and 38.7% from three.

Not only is Young known for his impressive buckets during his career, but the playmaker also managed to give the NBA some pretty iconic moments, including his no look three that he seemed confident was a make.

The former 6-foot-7 guard had it all, but he was never able to put it together during his career to become the bonafide star he had the potential to be. Although he did manage to find a role with the Lakers and Warriors (where he won a championship) as a key bench player, Young had the skillset to be so much more than that.
