The Washington Wizards suffered their 12th-consecutive loss on Tuesday night in a 123-112 defeat at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. The loss brings the Wizards' season-long total up to 49 losses in 58 games, the most in the NBA.

Tipping off shortly after Wizards-Warriors was the Detroit Pistons' matchup with the Chicago Bulls. Entering play, the Pistons held the NBA's worst record at 8-49, the after-effects of a 28-game losing streak. By the night's end, Detroit came away with a 105-95 win over Chicago, notching their ninth win of the year.

The Wizards and the Pistons find themselves neck-and-neck in the league's cellar, tied at 9-49 on the season. Considering the historic losing streak the Pistons went on throughout November and December, fans in the District and around the league are rightfully surprised to find the Wizards in this position.

Amidst the Pistons' early-season struggles, Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma took to Twitter to poke fun at Detroit's misfortune, a decision he may already regret.

Kyle Kuzma's old tweet goes viral after Wizards loss

During the Pistons' eventual overtime loss at TD Garden in Boston, Detroit took a commanding 19-point lead to halftime over the Celtics. However, a 35-16 third-quarter scoring differential allowed the Celtics to claw their way back and tag the Pistons with their 28th-consecutive loss. Detroit would put an end to the streak in their very next game against the Toronto Raptors.

Since Kuzma's tweet, the Wizards are an abysmal 4-24 and fans have taken the opportunity to let Washington's forward hear about it on social media.

The Wizards will have an opportunity to face the Pistons head-to-head at the Capital One Arena in the final game of their season series on March 29th. Currently, Washington leads the season series, having won two of the team's first three meetings.
