The Washington Wizards are in the middle of a rebuild and should look to maximize their draft capital before the deadline. They have the third-worst record in the league and need a star to get back in contention. The Wizards could trade multiple pieces, but Kyle Kuzma figures to draw the most buzz.

The 6’9 forward is having arguably the best season of his career as he is averaging 22.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 30.9 minutes per game. Kuzma is a plus shooter and scorer who helped the Lakes win the championship inside the bubble in 2020.

The Wizards are asking for a massive haul in return, but multiple teams have shown interest. Finding a 6’9 forward capable of scoring 20 points per game is not easy, and these are the top packages Washington can get in return for Kuz.

5. Wizards get Kings to give up 1st rounder

The Kings are rumored to be in the market for an upgrade before the deadline. They have been linked to Pascal Siakam, but what if Sacramento fails to land the two-time All-Star? Multiple stars are projected to be available. The Kings need someone who can space the floor and defend multiple positions to supplement De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

Sacramento has three first-round picks available to trade. They could go for a star or just attempt to land a crucial role player who can help them go on a deep playoff run. If they want Kuzma, could the Wizards go for this package?

Kuzma to Kings

Washington wants multiple first-round draft picks in return for the 6’9 forward, but is any team willing to offer them? The Kings would likely keep it to one first and matching salary. They are rumored to have Kevin Huerter on the block. Washington could look to rebuild Huerter’s value and flip him for draft capital down the line.

This is unlikely to be the best offer the Washington Wizards receive, but it is difficult to see Sacramento giving up more. The Kings likely save up for a larger trade, and other teams are more desperate to improve their roster.
