The Washington Wizards began its rebuild this season after trading Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns, and now the team will look to reap the benefits of a trying season by acquiring a bright young prospect in the NBA Draft.

The Wizards have the second worst record in the NBA this season, 15-65 on the year, and will look to land the top pick in this year’s draft, which the team will have the best odds to do. The three worst records in the NBA all get the same amount of ping-pong ball combinations in the NBA Draft Lottery, which the Wizards have locked in, at 14%.

Oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook have listed the Wizards as tied for the shortest odds with the Pistons and Hornets at +550, which would translate to a 15.4% implied probability.

While this price translates to be more likely than the actual outcome, implying this may not be the most long-term profitable wager, this shows where the Wizards stand heading into the lottery next month.

Washington has plenty of draft capital to begin building around its high draft pick this season, and landing the No. 1 pick can help reignite the franchise that has slipped to the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. As well, Washington will be in the market for a new head coach after relieving Wes Unseld Jr. of his duties during the season.

While we have to wait for the lottery to see what pick the Wizards get, you can check out the full list of odds from FanDuel Sportsbook below.
